How to Make a Knife
1 Day Knife Crafting Course
THIS COURSE IS HELD FROM 9AM-5PM AND IS LIMITED TO TWO STUDENTS.
THERE WILL BE NO FORGING IN THIS COURSE. STUDENTS WILL CHOOSE FROM THREE DIFFERENT PRE HEAT TREATED KNIFE BLANKS AND LEARN ALL THE STEPS ON HOW TO FINISH IT.
IF YOU WISH TO BOOK WITH A FRIEND, PARTNER OR CHILD (10 YEARS+) AND MAKE ONE KNIFE TOGETHER THE COURSE PRICE REMAINS THE SAME. IF BOTH PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THEIR OWN KNIFE, CHANGE THE QUANTITY TO “2” WHEN YOU’RE ADDING THIS COURSE TO YOUR CART.
YOU MUST BE 18+ YEARS OLD TO ATTEND THIS COURSE AND 10+ YEARS OLD IF ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
OUTCOME:
Learn the fundamentals of making a pre heat treated knife using 1/4” thick 80CRV2 high carbon steel. Choose from a variety of handle colours made of G10.
Length:
- 8 Hours per Day
- 1 Day
Requirements:
Participant must agree to and sign a waiver. Participant must also wear leather or steel toe boots.
Learn about:
- high carbon steel
- different types of grinds and their purposes
Learn how to:
- grind edge bevels
- polish blade on a belt grinder
- construct a handle
- sharpen your knife
- make a kydex sheath (if time permits)
How to Make a Knife
2 Day Knife Crafting Course
THIS COURSE IS HELD FROM 9AM-5PM SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AND IS LIMITED TO TWO STUDENTS.
IF YOU WISH TO BOOK WITH A FRIEND, PARTNER OR CHILD (10 YEARS+) AND MAKE ONE KNIFE TOGETHER THE COURSE PRICE REMAINS THE SAME. IF BOTH PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THEIR OWN KNIFE, CHANGE THE QUANTITY TO “2” WHEN YOU’RE ADDING THIS COURSE TO YOUR CART.

How to Make a Sword
5 Day Sword Making Course
THIS COURSE IS HELD FROM 9AM-5PM MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AND IS LIMITED TO TWO STUDENTS.
YOU MUST BE 18+ YEARS OLD TO ATTEND THIS COURSE.

OUTCOME:
Learn to make a fully functional European longsword (no katanas) up to 48" using 1/4" thick 80CRV2 high carbon steel

- 8 Hours per Day
- 5 Days
Requirements:
This course requires either taking the two knife making courses, or having previous bladesmithing experience. Participant must agree to and sign a waiver. Participant must wear leather or steel toe boots.
Learn about:
- high carbon steel
- proportions
- sword balance
- blade geometry
Learn how to:
- forge blade to rough shape
- grind blade to shaper
- grind edge bevels
- heat treat
- finish grind
- make the guard and pommel
- polish on belt grinder
- hand sand
- make the handle out of leather wrapped poplar or other exotic woods I have available

What’s your Cancellation / Refund Policy?
All course sales are final and cannot be refunded. But you can reschedule at anytime.
Do I need my own equipment / gear?
No. I’ll provide you with everything you need, including safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, hammer, etc.
If you do have your own equipment, I encourage you to bring them and get more comfortable with your tools.
Are food & accommodation included?
No. But there are plenty of hotels and restaurants nearby.

How good will I get after taking your courses?
Bladesmithing is an Art and a Science. It takes years of practice, trial, error, success, and mistakes to become good at the craft. But you can greatly accelerate your progress by investing in training with an experienced mentor.
