THIS COURSE IS LIMITED TO ONE STUDENT
YOU MUST BE 18+ YEARS OLD TO ATTEND THIS COURSE.
OUTCOME:
Learn to make a fully functional European longsword (no katanas) up to 48" using 1/4" thick 80CRV2 high carbon steel
Length:
- 8 Hours per Day
- 5 Days
Requirements:
This course requires either taking the two day knife making course, or having previous bladesmithing experience. Participant must agree to and sign a waiver. Participant must wear leather or steel toe boots.
Learn about:
- high carbon steel
- proportions
- sword balance
- blade geometry
Learn how to:
- forge blade to rough shape
- grind blade to shaper
- grind edge bevels
- heat treat
- finish grind
- make the guard and pommel
- polish on belt grinder
- hand sand
- make the handle out of leather wrapped poplar or other exotic woods I have available

IF YOU WISH TO BOOK WITH A FRIEND, PARTNER OR CHILD (10 YEARS+) AND MAKE ONE KNIFE TOGETHER THE COURSE PRICE REMAINS THE SAME. IF BOTH PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THEIR OWN KNIFE, CHANGE THE QUANTITY TO “2” WHEN YOU’RE ADDING THIS COURSE TO YOUR CART.
YOU MUST BE 18+ YEARS OLD TO ATTEND THIS COURSE AND 10+ YEARS OLD IF ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.

Learn the fundamentals of bladesmithing a knife up to 8-13” using 1/4” thick 80CRV2 high carbon steel. Choose from a variety of handle colours made of G10.

- heat treating
Learn how to:
- forge a knife to a rough shape
- grind edge bevels
- polish blade on a belt grinder
- construct a handle
- sharpen your knife
- make a kydex sheath (if time permits)
